Ray Kolling has particular expertise in shaping the role of technology. His passion lies in building core competencies through continuing innovation and cost effectiveness in fast changing industries. In his consulting to high technology industries Ray’s projects have ranged from developing new product, market-positioning, disciplined process improvement and cost reduction efforts.
Ray has actively worked in many industries: technology, financial services, retailing, life sciences, mining, chemical and utilities industries. Currently Ray performs his work through an independent consulting practice, which allows him to be dynamic and focused on this type of work.
He holds a B.A. of Mathematics from the University of the Pacific and an M.B.A. from Stanford Business School where he graduated in the top 10% of the class. Ray went on to work for industry leaders such as: R. B. Webber & Company, Xoriant Corporation, Alliance Consulting Group, Visa International, Booz, Allen, & Hamilton and The Boston Consulting Group.
Ray prides himself on his work with Visa, where he led the strategy development and implementation efforts to consolidate global data centers based on the declining costs associated with advancing telecommunications technology and save $1 billion over seven years. The majority of Ray’s time at Visa was spent developing a patented electronic bill payment and presentation service.
