CECyTE Plantel Primo Tapia High School Lunchroom

Helping CECyTE Plantel Primo Tapia High School:

Situation:

​

Primo Tapia High School with 400 students currently has outdoor lunch seating for 48 students.  The lunch area is covered with shade cloth which is torn and disintegrating. 

Solution:

​

This project will expand the lunch area to include 80 seats and cover the entire area with new shade fabric shade structure frame, and concrete tables made by a local vendor will be added..

Results:

​

FAMA believes in a community approach first, students, teachers, and local skilled laborers came together to provide CECyTE Plantel Primo Tapia High School with a new lunch area to accommodate the growing student body.

ROTARY WORK PROJECT PROPOSAL – LUNCHROOM

Name of School:  CECyTE Plantel Primo Tapia (High School)

​

Description of Project:  Primo Tapia high school with 400 students currently has outdoor lunch seating for 48 students.  The lunch area is covered with shade cloth which is torn and disintegrating.  This project will expand the lunch area to include 80 seats and cover the entire area with new shade fabric.

Scope of Project (can be accomplished by 15 member crew in 1 day): 

​

  1. Set wooden poles and build shade structure frame.

  2. Place thick hexagonal paving stones into position

  3. Put concrete tables made by a local vendor into place

  4. Attach new shade fabric over both structures.

 

Materials that will need to be purchased:

  1. Paving stones for new 18’ x 18’ area

  2. Wood and  hardware (fasteners, screws, hangers, lashing cord for attaching shade fabric…)

  3. (4) Concrete tables and benches

  4. Shade Fabric to cover entire area 17’ x 50’

 

Materials/Tasks that Primo Tapia CECyTE will provide:

  1. Remove concrete rubble from site

  2. Ground prep leveling, post layout and post holes dug

  3. Project oversite and direction

  4. Student volunteer workers
